History: Before Columbus

Let's discuss what what America was like before Christopher Columbus arrived accidentally.

America before Columbus

Who lived in America and the Caribbean before the Europeans?

According to traditional American history books, Christopher Columbus founded America upon his expedition in 1492. However, America was already populated with indigenous people that Columbus wrongly labeled Indians. The same is true for the Caribbean and South America.

Were Europeans the first to sail to America?

In fact, ancient Afro Phoenicians likely from West Africa & Morocco are thought to have traveled to America as early as 750. BC. These early travelers traded with the indigenous brown people they found in America and elsewhere. However, it is true that Columbus's voyage was the first of its kind in terms of size and eventual casualties.
